Schools There are 8 schools in Homer: 4 elementary, 1 junior high, 2 high schools, and 1 K-12.

Tsunami Shelter Location (if different) All designated shelters in Homer are above inundation level.
Hospital Facility & Staffing South Peninsula Hospital is a qualified Acute and Long Term Care facility, as well as providing several different types of outpatient care. There is a 26 bed capacity, and Disaster Supplies for Mass Casualties. The staff is trained and capable in OR procedures, Anesthesiology, X-Ray. The hospital has a heliport, 2 ventilators, and can stand by on emergency power for 240 hours. The hospital can support 10 critically injured patients.
Nearest Major Hospital (for Medivac) The South Peninsula Hospital is capable of providing an extensive amount of emergency care. For more involved or specialized operations, Providence or Alaska Regional Hospitals are located in Anchorage.
Other Public Buildings/ Facilities Homer Public Library, Council Chambers, Islands and Oceans Visitor Center.
