Old Harbor has no overland access roads; visitors must travel by air or water. Several local commercial air carriers service Old Harbor, with daily mail flights scheduled and charter flights available as well. Air access to Old Harbor is always weather dependent. There is also regular commercial ferry service to Old Harbor through the Alaska Marine Highway system.
The road system in Old Harbor is limited to gravel roads and paths. There are some vehicles (roughly 75-100) and also approximately 40-60 ATVs in the community. The community has its own fire truck.
