Outreach and Facilitation
Community participation and stakeholder support are critical to the success of many environmental planning projects. Early efforts to share information and solicit public opinion can be incorporated into the scoping phase of a federal- and/or state-mandated environmental review.
Nuka Research has worked successfully to facilitate public outreach for many of our clients on a wide range of projects including water quality sampling, marine transportation systems, commercial fisheries management, oil and gas exploration, and environmentally sensitive areas protection. We have also organized and facilitated technical workshops and forums on issues including meteorological monitoring, navigational safety, and oil spill response technologies.
Nuka Research understands the need for clear, two-way communications to ensure that local concerns are identified and addressed early on in the planning process. Effective public outreach and community relations can help project developers and planners save time and expenses later on by identifying areas of public concern and potential modifications or mitigation measures early in the planning process. We can act as a community or public liaison to help project developers minimize potential misconceptions and foster a productive dialogue with diverse stakeholder groups by providing clear, accurate information and eliciting public input. We also provide data management and analysis services to compile and analyze public feedback to provide meaningful information to decision-makers and public officials.
